The Ministry’s new six-storey members club is equipped with class-leading, fully-integrated AV technology.
Bigabox Productions designed and specified all AV equipment solutions, including a 36-seat Dolby Atmos screening room. Also within the space are 2 soundproofed mastering studios, as well as a host of meeting spaces within its 50,000 sq. ft. facility. Bigabox Productions were chosen to carry out the technical element of the installation, having worked extensively with the Ministry over the years. Set in a former diary factory, just two minutes walk from the Ministry of Sound nightclub and record label at Elephant & Castle, the new concept is the first in a series of planned operations, combining the attributes of a private members club with co-working offices, and is geared towards the media and music industries.
The centrepiece of the operation is the main event theatre — an all-white multi purpose space. Audio for the space was provided by JBL CBT70J-1 Constant Beamwidth line array columns, and a pair of JBL CBT50LA-1 speakers in the break-out space, while a separate PRX818 subwoofer is powered by a Crown CDi DriveCore 4|600 amplifier. This theatre also contains full video facilities, while control includes a touchscreen PC with HiQnet Architect and a pair of Soundweb EC-4BV HiQnet wall controllers. In fact local room control is provided throughout by Soundweb EC-8BV/EC-4BV wall controllers. One coveted space is the Dolby Atmos 7.2.4 screening room. This is equipped with JBL 705p 7-Series and JBL 305 3-Series reference monitors, with PRX815 subs providing LF extension and JBL Control 23-1 speakers for infills.
