The Role: Sales & Business Development Manager

You will be responsible for developing new business and growing existing client profiles. You will be the senior sales contact for clients in a variety of sectors from live, exhibition and corporate. You must use a proactive, multi-sector sales approach to increase the overall sales productivity of the business. Your primary objective is to drive sales activity whilst coordinating and negotiating pricing and specifications for a range of projects.

Your role may be a mixture of office, site, and remote working – we are flexible and encourage a happy, healthy working environment.

Responsibilities 

You are our biggest brand ambassador! Promote Bigabox and our high standards of operation, process and values to the wider business and industry – Ensuring that Bigabox’s quality standards are always maintained.

Lead on sales activity and client relationship management. Collaborating and providing solutions whilst continually corresponding with clients on new opportunities and active projects, keeping them informed every step of the way.

Create new and maintain existing customer relationships, acting as a key point of contact for projects and prospects.

You will proactively discuss upcoming opportunities as you develop relationships, in participation with the wider team. Identifying and capitalising on opportunities where additional services provided by Bigabox can be introduced to existing projects and clients.

You will maintain and continue to develop a database of contacts for new, repeat and future business opportunities using our CRM system (Monday). Always identifying potential projects and sales opportunities.

You will attend and participate in the group sales meetings. At times, leading these meetings to demonstrate sales growth and updates. Preparing Monthly job forecasts and financial summaries as required.

Represent Bigabox in pitches, client meetings, on site and at industry events.

Always ensure confidentiality of information relating to Bigabox and our clients, projects, or personal staff information.

Be aware and comply with our Health and Safety Policy and Codes of Practice and keep up to date with Bigabox’s policies, products and services.

The focus for this role will be across multiple sectors, so a dynamic approach is required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Self-motivated and able to work under own initiative as well as part of a team.
  • Minimum 5 years sales experience within the events Industry
  • Approachable, proactive and outgoing – You will build collaborative and trusting relationships with both new and existing clients. Offering technical knowledge and expertise for projects, ensuring efficient and seamless delivery
  • Ability to work to tight schedules, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills: Excellent telephone and written communication. You will be working with multiple stakeholders, both internal and external, keeping communications always open and clear.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Ability to work within a CRM system: Monday.com. So that all sales, comms and updates are saved in one location. Record, communicate and action any project requirement changes and customer confirmations.
  • Proven track record of growing new clients and relationships.
  • Proven experience in a similar role within the events industry, demonstrating both sales portfolio and technical knowledge.
  • Commercially minded – Managing budgets and profit margins with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Using strong negotiating skills where necessary.
  • Financial awareness and business acumen
  • Good understanding of the Company’s product range and services..
  • You must be a fantastic time keeper
  • Full Driver’s license – You will travel frequently for work, attending meetings and going to site for events.
