The Decimator MD-HX is an incredibly versatile, miniature HDMI to SDI and SDI to HDMI cross-converter. It is widely used in live event production and broadcasting as an essential, Swiss Army knife-style tool to solve signal headaches on-site. The compact device is housed in a robust aluminium case and doesn’t require a noisy fan.
Equipped with a built-in motion-adaptive scaling engine and frame rate converter, it supports a wide variety of 3G, HD, and SD formats. It features 14 selectable conversion modes, allowing users to easily adapt mismatched video standards and seamlessly convert between 3G-SDI Level A and Level B. Additionally, it doubles as a 1-to-4 distribution amplifier with its four configurable SDI outputs.
Unlike older converters, the MD-HX does not require complicated DIP switches or a connected computer to operate. It features a built-in LCD screen and a simple four-button menu system that gives users fast access to routing, scaling, and audio adjustments. It also serves as a professional test pattern generator with selectable output formats and test patterns for rapid troubleshooting
